Visit Us

Madarao ski mountain is a dream destination for skiers and boarders as it incorporates not one but two world-class ski resorts on the same mountain. Our ski seasons run from between December and March, and is under 2.5 hours from Tokyo or 4.5 hours from Osaka on the Bullet Train [Shinkansen].

Ski Runs:

They range for beginners right up to seasoned professionals. All with easy chairlift access. Lift passes range from 8,000¥ per day or a multi-day pass from 15,000¥ for 2 days and a 3 day pass at 21,000¥

Restaurants and Bars:

Madarao has very quickly become the new hot spot to dine and drink, with a great variety of boutique restaurants and bars. Here is a link to a few of our favourites:

There is also Sakura, an Okonomiyaki restaurant that Andrew helps run too, a fantastic spot for lunch. Please ask us for further information and bookings.

Mountain Bike runs:

This increasingly popular sport is growing interest on the mountain and bike trails are being developed for the green seasons.

Ski Hire:

There are two ski hire store options to choose from, and both offer a fantastic range of ski or snowboard hire, and also all your ski gear too.

Groceries:

There is a grocery and gift store which offers the essentials for staying on the mountain including alcohol. Open 7 days a week.

Onsens:

There is one Onsen available to visit in the village at the Madarao Kogen, and also another public Onsen called Madarao no Yu which is just a 10 minute drive from the lodge, and you can also have dinner there too. Andrew the host can offer a shuttle to either Onsen if required.
